Tooth Colored Bonded Filling Option

Most fillings done in our Roselle dentist office are done with cosmetic tooth colored filling material. This allows for a more natural and beautiful smile where it is difficult to tell that there are any fillings present. A composite resin material that matches your teeth is selected, a gel is applied to microetch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is applied so that the material adheres to the surface. Then the tooth colored material itself is placed on the tooth and hardened with an intense light. The composite resin material is shaped and polished to get a lustrous finish as a last step. We also have silver filling material available, if you prefer.

Sealants

This is a preventive procedure recommended by the dentist in Roselle for all children and some adults. A sealant is a thin plastic coating that is used to fill in the narrow grooves of a tooth that collect plaque and food and cannot be adequately cleaned by brushing. By placing these sealants, our hygienist is helping you to prevent cavities from forming in the grooves, which is the area most likely to form a cavity.

Non-Surgical Gum Treatment

When the gums, ligaments and bone around your teeth are not healthy, it jeopardizes the teeth just as a bad foundation would threaten the stability of a house. Signs of gum or bone disease may be as follows: red gums that may bleed easily, persistent bad breath, receeding gums, loose teeth, and/or a changing fit in the bite or position of the teeth. Most importantly, there are instances when there are NO SIGNS of this disease.

If you notice any of these signs or would like us to check to make sure you do not have this disease, please call us for help. With appropriate gum treatments and proper care, it may be possible to return the gums to a healthy state. If the gum disease gets too severe, though, it may need to be treated with surgery or extraction. This is why it is important to seek the help of your dentist in Roselle as soon as you can.

Digital X-Rays

In our office we use digital radiography which allows us to take X-rays using 50-70% less radiation versus conventional X-rays. Coupled with computer monitoring, digital x-ray technology allows us to enhance the images for better diagnosis of any dental concerns.
